Professional Development
I have experience practicing and training on a multitude of professional topics that directly relate to the work being done by your SLPs and other special education staff. My approach is practical and actionable. I believe that training should leave staff feeling energized.
Professional Coaching
Best practices in professional development inform us that “sit and get” training is a first step in updating practices, but that longitudinal support is most effective in growing new intervention and evaluation skills. We can develop a plan that fits with your team’s goals.
Bilingual Evaluations
Of all of my areas of professional expertise, the culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment of speech/language development of emerging bilingual students is top of the list. Caseloads are growing by the minute, appropriate assessment to avoid over-identification is beneficial to staff and students alike.
Intern Supervision
It is a frustrating reality that having a small staff can, at times, limit your ability to grow new staff. I offer a systematic model of positive supervision for new professionals. Interns will obtain the necessary supervision as well as professional development and coaching similar to what I offer generally.
