About me

More than 20 years as a bilingual SLP has taken me on a journey from novice to expert in many areas of speech-language services, but there is always so much more to learn.

In my personal life, I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. My own children are emergent bilingual and one has already begun her public school career in a dual language program.

In my professional practice, relating to the experiences of other SLPs and educational staff is at the center of how I work. Within districts, I have spent time both near the bottom and near the top. My eight years at the Education Service Center kept me close to the work of districts while affording me room to approach issues from a fresh perspective.

In my role at the Education Service Center, I had the pleasure of working with SLPs, special education teachers, bilingual ESL teachers, administrators and parents. My experience presenting at many in-person and virtual conferences has led me to develop as a presenter so I can connect meaningfully with the people I serve.

I am passionate about the success of our students and their right to an appropriate education delivered with dignity regardless of their origin, identity, or disability status. In my years working in public education, I have met countless educators who have the best of intentions but are short on resources. Given the opportunity, I would be honored to support your educators to provide next-level services to your students.
